Hi, just a quick one - does anyone here know how to absolutely reset a Fritz 7490 to actual factory defaults?

I've tried downloading firmware from the Fritz website, but no matter how you slice it, 2 Degrees have somehow stored their provider settings in a persistent way on the device.

I'm very keen to completely wipe/remove these settings (and the potential backdoor) now that I've switched to BigPipe.

TR-069 is not a backdoor. I'm also pretty sure the 2degrees ACS server isn't accessible from outside their network so there are no risks at all from this.

Go to the login page and click lost password after plugging in the modem that will factory default everything.

Hi Premiumtouring,

Devices issued by 2degrees come in to the country with our configuration from factory, however you are more than welcome and able to use the device on other networks.

These devices are only able to be managed from the 2degrees ACS while on a 2degrees broadband connection, so you can be assured that your settings won't change at all and the device is safe while on other networks.

One thing that I will mention here is that methods to remove this (including the one linked in the post above) may void the warranty on the device.
