Do 2Degrees sell any Pocket WiFi type devices - if so, are they an in store thing only (as the online store makes no mention of them).

And if I was able to secure, what is the most efficient way to provide data to the WiFi device?

It may be that 2D is not the best company to go through - Vodafone/Spark or Skinny may have better options

Reason - I play Pokemon Go and a recent update seems to have broken connectivity to the internet when the device uses a SIM card to access the internet directly; however accessing the internet via a WiFi device (currently using a 2nd mobile phone) works perfectly.

2d allows you to share data with up to 5 other devices for free. So if you have a plan already it'll be good.

What Scott says ^^, thanks scottjpalmer

There's a few options to manage the data on the SIM in the Pocket Wi-Fi -

* Shared Data - using the Carryover Data from your Pay Monthly plan and keep an eye on your balances from your phone dial *100*1#, text 'bal' to 233 or app or online at Your 2degrees.

* Buy a 2degrees Data Pack and set up an Auto-Top-Up or Monthly Auto-Top-Up to ensure your pack auto-renews each month or on depletion.

When you get the SIM for the device make sure you add the number in Your 2degrees so you can manage it from there or the app.

If you need with getting set up or any of this please PM us.

Cheers

Thanks for the links, I was going round and round in circles on the website looking for things.

Looks like the "4G" WiFi device is out of stock, and because I am on prepay ($19 carryover) and do not want to switch over to a pay monthly plan, its looks like the $99/12GB/6 month zone data pack is the best value ..

All this so I don't have to put a SIM card in a phone that isn't my primary phone so I can continue to play a game ...hrm

The 4G Wi-Fi modem that Spark sell supports bands of all carriers in nz (Band 28 included), pop 2degrees SIM in and the zone data is OK value (if you are in 2 degrees native coverage zone).

I have one for sale that works on 2degrees. I think it's 3G, but it's still pretty quick, and I'd sell for less than half the price of a brand new current model. PM if interested.
