Slingshot must be doing some masive throttleing of streaming video from international sites.

It is basically impossible to watch a video (for example from Microsoft Virtual Academy) without video stopping and buffering every 5 seconds. The problem is especially bad in the evenings.

I have been with slingshot for over 15 years now - and this got to be the worst that I've ever had it.

Streaming the same video over a VPN tunnel through one of the free VPN providers - streams smothly.

I'm on unlimited ADSL plan.

Makes me seriously reconcider my continious commitment to slingshot.

We don't artificially throttle your speeds. If you've noticed a problem with your connection your best bet would be to give our support team a buzz on 0800 89 2000 so we can troubleshoot this and potentially raise a fault ticket.

I have a fibre connection and I get awful buffering on YouTube.

My connection is fine for Netflix

I haven't tried other international video sites.

Netflix comes from the caching servers Netflix has installed within the CallPlus network so should work flawlessly for Netflix (assuming Netflix is correctly routing you to the CallPlus cache). So Netflix not a great indicator for international network quality.
