We have been waiting almost a month now for our broadband account from Orcon after moving with them from an old address.

They've given us the 'slots full' excuse with no date for when any may be available.

What worries me is that I've read this thread here:
http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?ForumId=82&TopicId=20100&page_no=8

In it CatJ says they were waiting for Orcon to setup broadband, got the 'slots full' excuse and then it later turns out that signing up with Xtra resulted in broadband in 48 hours!!!

So now I am stuck in a bit of a dilemma... Do I sign up with Xtra online to see if I can get broadband or could I risk dropping to the bottom of this so called waiting list if I do that?

NZ broadband sucks!

Hi casewindow,

If you could send me your username that you signed up with I would be happy to look into this for you.

CatJ's situation was pretty unique, and something we believe we have since resolved (although I still have not heard from her to verify the problem).

I would be interested to see what the hold up in your case is.
