I am on a pre paid plus $19 carryover plan with 2 degrees.  A couple of days ago was my monthly roll over date and I had almost 2gb of data sitting there to be used before the rollover.  On rollover day my stored data did not carry over and I was down to my new monthly 1gb.  Then all of a sudden my data disappeared altogether and $50 was taken from my credit I had on my account.  2 degrees are saying I used it which is impossible absolute lies.  Only thing I can think of is the 2deg app on my phone has caused this.  Anyone else have this issue?  Goin to make the change to another provider because this is just not on.  All my data gone and $50 missing and unsympathetic support from 2 degrees.

Cant you go onto you phone and check under your data usage? You should be able to see how much mobile data you have used and which app used it.

What device do you have? On an iPhone you can go to Settings->Mobile and it will get you details on what data has been used and which applications have used it.  I assume Android would have something similar but couldn't tell you where.

I don't see why the 2Degrees app would use all of that data, what makes you suspect that app?

They love switching you to casual data pricing and hoovering up your cash. Even if something went rogue on your phone and gobbled up your 3GB it's just plain wrong to then strip your cash balance through 'casual' data rates. I know what I'd call it and it isn't casual.

I will be changing providers soon, I wont miss 2 degrees, I used to support them to encourage competition, but I've had similar to you happen twice, latest time they poached $30.

We certainly do. That's why we made sure the first thing that registering for Data Clock does is turn off casual data.

I've registered for Data Clock (but not used it yet) and I'm pretty sure casual data still happens. Unless you mean casual data is turned off only for the duration of the data clock?

I personally would prefer the option to disable casual data alltogether. I purposefully only top up when I need to renew just to ensure that if I ever run out of data packs I will only lost a few dollars of credit.

Casual data is turned off completely once you register, except for the period between registration and the next time your data session restarts. That would probably happen several times a day if the phone was in your pocket going to sleep.

Have you looked up your usage on the website? You can view the time and date for each session as well as how much was used. Might help find out what used it if you were doing something on your phone when a huge session happened?

You should try to find out what caused it because moving providers won't fix it as it'll likely happen again if the issue is on your device. As others above said, what handset have you got?

Hey Justmezz1

Have you checked the usage app on your phone to see what app has been guzzling your data?  We can't make you use it any faster other than providing a faster, 4G network, sorry.

Our front line agents don't have visibility of what you have used your data on, they only see the amount of MBs you use as you do on your usage in Your 2degrees.  Using that info and the usage app on your phone is probably the way to work out what it was used on.

We also have info on keeping an eye on your data usage here.

If you need more help from us on this please PM your # and 4 digit PIN and the date of the usage.

Thanks

^POB
