We ordered a new iPhone on the weekend, for pickup at the Onehunga store. Had to call to follow it up, and spoke with a fairly useless customer service person. Their suggestion was to visit the store you’re picking it up from, but they couldn’t even tell us if it’s there. Tried called the local store, and the number goes straight to a not setup voicemail! How useless. Before we completely cancel the account, any other suggestions?

I always buy my iOS devices direct from Apple.

Have only ever once bought an iPhone once from Vodafone, and that was my wife's 6.

Seems to be a thing with them

Should have got a wireless charger when i pre-ordered the note8 and was told they would send it this week, just went into store to be told "you need to call <insert 3rd party company> and ask them" Which seems to be 2degree's supplier of cell phone accessories.  When I asked how long I should wait i get a blank look and told 3 or 4 weeks.

Not what was told me to me when i picked up the note 8 last week.

Same here. I only buy from a retailer, if they either have them in stock and I can get it now,  or they are having a discount on them, which they do occasionally do. I wouldn't ever get a retailer to order one in unless there is an advantage in this over buying directly from apple.

You may have no choice but to go to the store and talk to them. I assume you chose a store that is handy to you for convenience. Also recommend buying straight from Apple. Super efficient if you don’t want anything immediately.

Why would anyone buy an iPhone through Apple? You get a one year warranty if you do. If you get the phone through 2degrees, you get a 2 year warranty.

But Apple do CGA without even blinking, so any ‘warrantee’ that isn’t AppleCare to replace your own mistakenly broken screen is just a waste of time.

I have NEVER had a new iPhone, but have twice had a refurbished replacement for a second hand purchase that developed a fault within the two years it was manufactured. Apple sent out the return box and swapped out the phones both times with no quibble about purchase date or even a potentially lost receipt. They knew it’s purchase date from their own records, and anything that expensive in NZ CGA law is ‘at least’ fit for purpose for 2 years...

Funny, they are using a right that everyone has and promoting it as their own add-on service.

That doesn't actually sound "super efficient" to me when qualified with "if you don't want anything immediately". How long do they take to ship usually?

Depends on the device I guess. Last purchases have been 2-4 days. Super efficient with update status tracking and delivery exactly when promised.
