I just picked up a Note8 from Noel Leeming a few days ago. It's meant to be setup for 2degrees which I'm using as my carrier. I've noticed that the phone tells me (upon starting up) that it can't get time and date info from the network, and I have to set it manually. This isn't a huge deal but I want to figure out why this is. I tried calling 2degrees and I was just told everything seems fine on their end.

I have noticed a couple of other things, which I'm not sure are related; if I go into my settings on the phone, under "My Phone Number" is says "unknown", and that for "IMS Registration Status" is says "Not Registered". I've tried going to the SIM tools app and try and request network settings but nothing ever comes through.

Any ideas on what's up here? Is it the phone (software bug) or something network related? I can send texts, get network data and make calls without issue.

Cheers.

Have you rebooted it? The time is from NTP from memory on Android devices.

Yes, rebooted the phone a few times. Also popped the SIM card out to try that.

Contacted 2degrees but phone - was told everything looks fine on their end. Emailed support and told to contact Samsung directly. Chatting with support now but I think this is a 2degrees issue.

EDIT - Just got off the phone with Samsung and basically was told it's a network issue (as I suspected). It's a bit strange as I didn't have the issue with any of my previous phones on 2degrees.

I haven't re-checked the following lately, but in the past on 2DM on dumb phones I've noticed that the auto-time update feature doesn't work during the months of daylight savings.
