Flip seems not only one who blocks port forwarding; I went to use my excessive Skinny data 4g as a mobile hotspot for torrent and still ports were closed.

Question - anyone here found a solution to torrent downloads while on Flip? Forget VPN Im asking if anyone has figured a workaround if at all possible. It doesnt look like there is any other option than a VPN but happy to try anything.

Torrent clients are Transmission and Qbittorrent under Ubuntu. The clients see peers, but dont usually start (although sometimes it works).

Thanks, Al.

No solution, you will only be able to get to peers with their ports open. That is the nature of peer to peer when one of you isnt on the internet properly.

So this doesn't apply to Bigpipe and Skinny home broadband but does to mobile data?
