Can I use google wifi on 2D fibre broadband? Apparently its not possible to set the VLan configuration in the Google wifi network settings.
It appears that I have to plug the google wifi into the Fritzbox. What is double NAT and how do I set up bridge mode on the Fritzbox?

Should be able too, i have had no issue plugging it into my router (Asus) and just letting the app do it's thing.  Once setup then I just used the google SSD.  I still have wifi on the router but I will nuke that in a few weeks when I have moved everything over to google wifi.

Have not run into any NAT problems with it yet.

No VLAN tagging makes this quite limited as you're required to use the Fritz or a switch to untag for you.

I would suggest either the Ubiquiti Amplifi or the Netgear Orbi as alternative and superior solutions then you can ditch the Fritz.

Hi @RiskAdverse,

As you mentioned, modems do need to support VLAN Tagging to use it on 2degrees.

Connecting the Google WiFi to your Fritz!Box should "just work". This is what is called "Double NAT", as you have network within another network. Understandably this is not the best set up, but will have to do until Google WiFi supports VLAN Tagging directly. Bridge mode stops the Fritz!Box from providing it's own network, and while you can enable this it's not recommended as it's a more complex set up and may make minimal difference to your internet quality.

You can also disable the Fritz!Box WiFi to avoid confusion, you can do this through http://fritz.box under "Wireless", or give us a call on 0800 022 022 opt 9 and we can change it for you in most cases.

Cheers,
^BRM
