Hello everyone,

I came back from holiday to find my internet no longer works, the router etc having been unplugged when I went away. The wireless networking is fine but the DSL light just flashes indicating that it's searching for a connection. I went through their online troubleshooting guide, including a factory reset of the modem. (an NF4V, about 6 monthes old) Called tech support, they put it through to chorus and apparently they found a fault somewhere outside the house, but things still aren't connecting.

Is there any way that I can check that the settings on the modem are correct before getting people in to check the line? It will cost $230 for chorus to visit and every other electrician in south Auckland seems to be living it up in Fiji at the moment, I'm worried that it won't be a fault in the line but just some ISP username password that isn't entered into the modem or some such.

so 1.:

here in the basic settings, there's no login and password saved, should there be login info here?:

2.

here's the status screen, anything amiss here?

Thanks for your time, anything that helps me to eliminate possible causes will be very helpful, and possibly save me quite a bit of cash. :)

You are not getting VDSL Sync, so will be nothing to do with the settings. It will be to do with the line itself or home wiring.
