Just received a txt saying
Great news from 2degrees. We've bumped up our $19 Carryover Combo so next time you buy the combo you'll get 1.25GB of NZ data and 200 mins!

Again a market leading price point with another boost in Data 👍

Skinny upped their $16 combo around December 19th to 1.25GB, 2degrees matched that and gave an extra 50 minutes

Didn't vf also do a raise much like this recently?

Sounds like following sheep ;)

None the less, bringing value to the market nicely done 2D.

and i was just about to switch to the $9 combo to burn through some of my 7gb saved up data.  clearly im not using anywhere near the 1GB a month Im getting...  I figure if I do 4 months on $9 then 8 months on $19 that averages out to $15.67 a month, which is slightly less than skinny, but has the added benefit of being per calendar month (i hate this 30 month or 28 day BS).

They also have the $29 carryover prepay as well with 2.5Gb data, I wonder if that'll get a bump up too...

Agreed. It's awesome having the under $20 plan being enough for so many people. It really annoyed me when all of the networks kept the limit at 500MB for like 5 years

This is a pretty good deal. I've just switched to do the Data Hunt having been with Vodafone since I first had a cellphone. The latest My Flex prepay combo I had with Vodafone was I think $25 for 1.5GB and 150 minutes so this is a much better deal with the slight difference in data more than covered by the Data Hunt. Plus of course the Vodafone deal is 28 days which results in 13 renewals a year rather than 12 with 2 Degrees being monthly. I gather Vodafone have dropped their prices, but it would still be an extra renewal every 12 months.

i still find the skinny deal for 1.25 Gb data, 150 minutes, unlimited text ,  for $16 the best deal.

Common sense is not as common as you think.

@invisibleman18 Not correct VodafoneNZ bumped up it's $19 Prepay flex to 200 minutes and 1.25GB few weeks back and 2D has followed suit

This is even mentioned just a few posts above this one

Which part was not correct? I could have been clearer that I changed when the Data Hunt started rather than making it sound like I had changed much more recently. That is what I was paying for the combo I was on at the time and I said I that I understood Vodafone had changed theirs (though wasn't sure of the specific combinations having already changed provider, and admit I didn't read the whole thread). Though the $19 deal is now the same combo for both, the 2 Degrees deal remains cheaper across a year as it is monthly so is one less renewal whereas 28 days works out to 13 renewals per 12 months. Not sure I actually said anything about the Vodafone $19 deal in my post anyway, just compared to the most recent one I was on before switching.

Really don't use the cellphone much, but the thing I like about skinny is it automatically takes the amount I want automatically from the credit card every month and tops it up. i.e. for the $8 pack it takes $8 every month, but on 2D I can't enter a payment of less than $20. Any way round this somewhere ?
