My Mum's going on cruise with stops in a few countries. She'll probably want to make an occasional call to book things, maybe use data occasionally.

What's the best way to get mobile access occasionally in those countries? Roam on 2degrees? With a pack of some kind, or standard rates?

Is there an international type SIM that's good value?

Is the LG G4 H815 ok for international roaming?

She might be best off using WiFi where she can find it, with Skype and such, and using the expensive ad-hoc roaming rates in emergencies.

If you have access to an S8 she could borrow, then she could use VoWifi as well.

Don't have access to an S8, she probably would want her own phone anyway, thanks.

Hi @timmmay

If she's on Pay Monthly our Globetrotting Data packs offer better value when she's in Spain - Roaming packs. Data roaming is not available in Dubai, UAE.

Here's more info on roaming rates - International roaming

Cheers

If she is going to just make calls occasionally and not use much data than probably just Paying for Casual roaming might be better, but if she is going to make anything more than 2-3 calls over a 7 day period then you may want to check out Spark's roaming. I am on 2Degress, but bought a $2 Spark sim and topped it up with $20 last month when I was in Dubai for a day, I found Spark's $20 for 7days had sufficient amount of data, mins and txts.

She's on prepay. She might be best off using free WiFi when she can get it, Skype, and use the phone for emergencies only. I was hoping there was such a thing as an international SIM with decent rates in most countries, but for a few days here and a few there it's not worth it.
