Anyone seeing slow image downloads from Twitter, on 2degrees broadband?

Oh yeah, now that you mention it, I was.

Of course, I've had awfully slow video download from gfycat for months, so it's hardly surprising to me. Ugh.

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

Yes I even see this on their mobile network.  open a tweet and sit there for the image/media to load

Looks like Twitter needs another reboot - noticed this as soon as I moved over to 2degrees :)

Last night the Huawei smartphone notified of a new update to Android 8.0... I started the download and in 12 hours it did 50% - and I'm not the only one who saw this on 2degrees fibre.

Daughter's Nokia downloaded its own update to Android 8.1 in under five minutes.

I now wonder if 2degrees has a route problem to some servers.

@2degreescare might want to investigate more...

Also if the twitter native videos play, they are potato quality and buffer. Nothing else broken. Mobile data on vodafone fine, no data on my 2deg sims to try that at the moment but is probably not 2deg, but twitters hopeless CDN. Older images load fine, and once its loaded once it seems fine if I click it again

Is it OK if you disable IPv6? I'm putting a support ticket together now about very slow downloads over IPv6 from a few NZ CDNs

Definitely something going on with routes. As suggested on the other thread I connected the phone to a VPN and the download (which took 18 hours to reach 75%) completed the remaining 25% in a couple of minutes.

@2degreescare, something for your network guys to look at...
