Received an email today:

We’re all about making sure New Zealanders get a good bang for their buck when it comes to their broadband.

That’s why we’ve just reduced the price of your Fibre broadband plan to $110 a month. And because you also have Mobile with us, you’ll get another $10 bucks off, so you’ll only pay $100 a month. That’ll make things a bit easier on the pocket.

You might notice a slight change on your next bill, so don’t be alarmed if you notice your ‘Fibre Speed Boost’ has been removed and your plan name has changed to ‘2degrees Broadband Unlimited Ultimate Fibre’. Rest assured, this is still exactly the same plan you had before with supercharged speeds of up to 900mbps downstream and 400mbps upstream*. The only change, now it costs you less.

We know the little things make a difference, so keep on streaming, gaming and surfing and enjoy a little extra in your pocket, on us.

I was pretty stoked with my 12 month Spark deal I signed up for the other day. 100/20 unmetered fibre for $104.98/month. It was price matched with their 50/20 base deal so I get a $10 discount each month as well as a one off $300 account credit and $50 credit for signing up online. That makes the deal cost me $789.46/year or $65.81/month.

I remember thinking NZ would never be a place someone could buy an unmetered 100/20 connection for $50/month but we're getting pretty close!

Spark now the most expensive on $139.99 for 900/500. At this price point I'm temped to jump ship...

I managed to haggle Spark down to $110 (incl $10 mobile discount) for 900/500 Naked Fibre, they know they are being undercut.

Good to see.

I wonder if this will be applied to all customers on the gig plan?

Incorrect :) I got the same email and am in contract. Good to see they've applied it to everyone on their Gigabit plan!

Upgraded to the Gigabit plan not that long ago, and I have not gotten the email (or the price). Not a huge difference, but still.

I haven't received the email but logging into my online account I can see the following has been added under the payments section so may be worth checking in there...

"Adjustment Charge: Plan change. Difference in base plans changing from 2degrees Broadband Unlimited Fibre to 2degrees Broadband Unlimited Ultimate Fibre for the already invoiced period 20 Apr - 20 May 2018

I'm currently within term so assuming everyone with the 900/400 add-on should change automatically.

I re-signed with Vodafone the other week, 100/20 unlimited fibre and phone for $69/month (24 month contract)

They took an extra $10/month off as we weren't eligible for the 3 months free being existing customers.

Edit: That also included a $10/month discount for having mobile with them
