We are from Auckland and 2degrees generally works well for us. My wife just went to Paihia with a friend for a short visit, staying in a motel in the central area of Paihia.

She is getting strong signals  (i.e. full 4 bars), yet she is unable to make calls, and getting "not registered on network" error message.

We managed to communicate using WhatsApp on the motel's wifi.

According to the "2degrees coverage map", the area my wife is staying should have good coverage.

Can someone enlighten me?

Cheers...

Restarted the phone?

Also make sure roaming is turned on as if 2d does not have a cell tower there then it will roam on the vodafone one as part of the agreement between the 2 companies

I have used my 2D phone in Paihia no issues on 3G/4G about 6 months ago I would say restart phone or serving cell has an issue

Hi tripp, I am confused about roaming.

My wife got an Android. But on my iPhone iOS 11, I can set "Data Roaming" on/off ONLY when I turned on "Mobile Data"; otherwise it is unsettable.

There is no setting for "Voice Roaming".

Does "Data Roaming" affects how voice roaming works?

It's not national roaming related I have used 2degrees right around Bay of Islands no issue
