I’ve been with Vodafone for years, but live in a valley in central Wellington where I get terrible reception. I’m also on call a lot for work so bad reception is not desirable and I don’t want a landline.

So looking at 2 degrees for the wifi calling. Given that this is an intelligent forum I thought it would be best to seek your thoughts on what the good things and not so good things are in relation to 2 degrees and wifi calling.

Any thoughts?

@BigRNZ Wi-Fi calling works well when you have a handset that is supported but Vodafone Sure Signal works with any 3G device so handy when visitors come round on Vodafone

FYI Sure Signal will work on any NZ fixed line ISP

2Degrees Wi-Fi calling you can use overseas for free roaming and they offer the best carryover value

Running a SS at home now due to being in a black hole (RSSI -105 - -120 style..). Be ware of a small catch if you go that way.. if your handset prefers 4G over 3, it tends to idle roam off to the worst signal tower and not back >:|

Locking it to 3G solves that, but leaves you with inferior speed when in the big smoke.

Excuse the sales pitch but now is a great time to move over 2degrees and enjoy the benefits of WiFi Calling , Carryover Data, Shared Data and much more. Grab a new Samsung Galaxy S9 or S9+ (get a free Wireless Charger and Skullcandy headphones if you call our Sales team on 0800 022055) or other top-end smartphone and get $200 discount plus 10GB if you join a $40 Carryover plan or above, plus you can pay your phone off on a 12, 24 or 36 interest free mobile repayment option.

Call our Sales team on 0800 022055 who can get you signed up or pop into your local 2degrees store -  and you can keep your number.

Cheers
