Hi Guys,

Apart for the big outage the other day, do anyone else in Central Auckland notice some random drop in fiber connection lasting about 5 min at times. Seams to happen often at the moment.

Good to know its not just me. it seems other isps are having issues as well and it escalated when slingshot had that outage a few weeks ago. and the phone line went down as well. hasnt been too bad since. But I had a weird issue recently for 4 days in a row my internet would cut our for around half an hour around 8am and come back on around 9 even tho the ONT showed the connection was online.

I wonder if slingshot are having capacity issues they are kind of the budget isp and have the cheapest gigabit plan right now wouldnt surprise me if they were struggling to maintain stability with so many users signing up.

Ive been considering switching ISPs. in the 14 years weve been with slingshot theyve been solid. But their fibre hasnt been as smooth as I hoped. Even when I first joined I had issues with the wifi dropping on the slingshot provided router ethernet seems fine. anyway im just ranting now but yes your not the only one with those issuse and i dont think its slingshot exclusive issues ether. that fibre outage a few weeks ago effected orcon as well and check the stuff fibre and big pipe forums theyve been having issues as well.

That is funny, as it is about the same hours as you that I have been getting drops as well. I was thinking the same about overload on the line.

We've been with them for 9 years, but was looking at moving to bigpipe. But if it is the same on the other side of the fence might as well stay there, as long as it doesn't get worse.

Lots of ISPs seem to be having line card issues at the moment I've heard.

Having similar problems, dropping out as well, buffering on Netflix never had that before, unable to connect...after 10 years with Slingshot I'd like to stay with them as there seems to be some overall problem?

No known issues on the network which would cause that.

Tons of capacity and Netflix caches for Africa.

i know one of the providers is re-homing several Handover links to new regional BNG hardware and upgrading software as an emergency procedure/planned works at the moment after a failure in auckland a few weeks ago
