Just a heads up - We are experiencing some issues with our direct Akamai cache peerings, it looks like a change was made off our network which has broken some of our peerings. A ticket has been raised to assist with resolution to resolve the root cause. FYI - We also peer over AKL-IX and Mega which is a less efficient path. I'll update more as information comes to hand.

Nick.

Update - Akamai are continuing to actively investigate (We are outside of the US engineering hours), however the NOC are working in it with their engineering resources.

Just echoing what @hio77 said - really appreciate the openness here. I wish other ISP's would do the same.

Hi All,

Thanks for the feedback - The 2d team monitor Geekzone closely, working hard to strike up the right balance on supporting our customers. I want to make sure we don't undermine the great support channels we already have in place via Customer Care who are resourced and skilled to deal with the majority of customer queries.

The root cause has just come through - Looks like a software upgrade was performed on the servers that look after BGP sessions outside of our network.

Nick.

I'm not currently a 2D customer, but it's really pleasing to see this sort of info being presented, and in a concise way without the marketing spin.
