Anyone familiar with how Glimp's deals work. They want my name and contact number so they can 'help' with my application...

Also, is it possible to combine Glimp's 12 month deal with Orcon's 24 month free Google Wifi repeaters deal? That would definitely make me pull the trigger.

It doesn't look like they have updated the deals from other providers.

Spark has an offer: 6 months $50 then $100 for the remaining 6. plus $50 prezzi for online order. Roughly $70 pm over 12 months.

Vodafone: 3 months free then $95 pm for 9 months. Roughly $71 pm over 12 months

2degrees: 12 months for $85 pm and $200 joining credit. Roughly $68 pm over 12 months

Orcon: 6 months 42.45 and $85 for 6 months. Roughly $63 pm over 12 months

If you have a mobile account with either you will also get an extra $10 off the telco's

2degrees seems to be the cheapest with the extra on account mobile.

Thanks for that. Orcon still looking pretty good. Spark and Vodafone are a little too expensive for their gigabit plans to consider. Don't have any use for the extras.

2 degrees one tempting though.

Being able to sign with orcon for 24 months and benefit from both 12 and 24 month deals would win me though.

Again look at Stuff fibre $69.95 for 3 months , no contract. free modem for the Gigabit plan. im with Stuff Fibre and it is rock solid, no complaints.

Common sense is not as common as you think.

Stuff works out a fair bit more expensive than Orcon (and 2 degrees with their $200 credit). I don't mind the contract tbh, chances of me ever having to break one is fairly slim and I'm not quite keen enough to want to go through this process again in 3 months.

Another one to add to the list though

When I was looking about 2 months ago, Orcon, Slingshot, Skinny and MyRepublic seemed to have the best regular prices for gigabit at $100. I didn't consider any discounts for postpaid mobile plans or power, since they didn't work for my situation. Likewise any free/discounted Netflix, Lightbox, Sky, etc, or any give aways of PS4s, fridges whatever.

But both Orcon and Slingshot had half price deals for 12 month plans, Orcon with Glimp and Slingshot via Broadband Compare. Since they are both Vocus and use the same rented routers etc, it was much of a muchness which one to choose. I ended up going with Orcon.

I didn't actually go via Glimp, their site was outdated as Orcon had just changed their prices and it took a bit long to get back to me and when I asked Orcon directly about it they offered the Glimp deal. (Was only 2 or 3 working days, but I wanted to change soon to try and avoid problems with MyRepublic.)

It looks like Stuff Fibre have now effectively came down to the $100 price as well since they're offering their loyalty discount again. Broadband compare used to have a free for 3 months deal without contract but it seems to be down to 2 months now. Also it's not free for gigabit since it's only off the base price. In any case, for only 2 months I think it's worse than the deal from Stuff's own website. (Well, not sure how it interacts with the loyalty discount.)

As you say, Spark, Vodafone, Bigpipe etc's base prices are a bit high for their gigabit deals meaning it's difficult to save no matter what they offer in deals perhaps unless you're interested in the Netflix etc. Even then I think you'll need to be very careful after your contract is up.
