Hey guys, figured I'd tap into the knowledge pool here before trying 2 Degrees help-desk.

I just got a new 2 Degrees Gigabit connection activated yesterday, but I'm only getting 93Mbps down, 530Mbps up via the 2degrees ChCh server on Speedtest. Similar results on a bunch of other servers I tried.

Getting identical results on the Speedtest app via 5G on my S7 (93/525 on last test)

Fritzbox 7490 shows my current active connections as:

LAN 2 at 1 Gbit/s   <-- PC Ethernet connection

WirelessLAN  5 GHz, 780 / 866 Mbit/s  <-- Galaxy S7

My PC and phone are the only devices connected.

Power Mode is 1 Gbit/s on all LAN ports.

Enable ONT connected LAN 1 to Fritz LAN 1.  Lights green (correct for Enable).

Anyone had the same issue? Only similar result I can find points to a NIC driver issue but I'm getting exactly the same speeds on the 5G connection to my phone.

Have seen this issue pop up a few times with 2d.

First thing i'd check is the rate limiting on the fritzbox is set correctly.

Following that 2d would need to have another look on their end.

@nickmack is normally quite onto it with these ones

Thanks for replies. Yeah no rate limiting currently set on the Fritz.

My Fritz's internet connection setting is "Via the FRITZ!BOX" which greys out the Data Throughput manual speed.  I changed it to "Via an external modem" and entered 999999 kbit/s for both which gives exactly the same speeds. Have changed it back to "Via Fritzbox".

The user name on the Fritz's internet connection is: snap-factory   Is that normal?

Getting ready to gird my loins and try phone support... doesn't sound like a problem that a script will help so extra painful!

It could well be a profile issue. I had a similar issue previously. Helpdesk was able to fix it on the spot and no issues since.

I'm assuming that the Fritzbox is one that 2degrees directly provided to you? As the Fritzbox serial numbers are associated with accounts. So if you had bought your fritzbox from Trademe, friend etc. You will get rate limited to the speed of their connection.

If the above is the case, the helpdesk can also easily change the Fritzbox to your account.

Have you tried several speed test servers?

Replaced ethernet cable ? (My PC speed had dropped to 5mbs down and 250 up, swapped cable and all right now - cable had got crushed without me noticing. Vodafone)

Yeah looks like they had an incorrect profile mapped to the Fritz. All fixed now. Thanks! :)
