Looks like I'm finally going to be able to convince the neighbors to consent to fibre trenching through the driveway so I'm starting to think about my migration to fibre from VDSL.

I really prefer running DD-WRT on my Asus AC3200 router for a whole variety of reasons - plus I already have it so I don't need or want a fritzbox.  However, if I decide to abandon my copper phone line I will need an ATA adapter to keep my traditional landline and also keep the alarm system connected to the monitoring company.

Can anyone chime in here with what ATA adapters they are using with 2Degrees Home Phone Plus?

I don't want to go with an ATA-router combo device. I'd like it to be sitting behind the router and then I'll hardwire it into the internal copper wiring in my house.  One issue is the main jack is located on another floor of my house from where the router will sit and the ONT will be placed.  Are there any ATA adapters that also can connect via WiFi instead of ethernet?

Just use the Fritz as an ATA - that way it's supported by 2D.

Don't have any experience with 2D phone service (I prefer to keep that separate to my internet service for portability reasons). That said, the SPA112 is an excellent choice, and if it works with 2D I'd recommend it. I don't know about WiFi ATA devices. Fritz is a very expensive + overkill alternative if you have to purchase it (I assume you wouldn't have opted to pay for one when signing up if you wanted to use your own router).
