Bought a phone for my wife a week ago with 2d plan and new SIM/number.

A few hours after connecting, she got some very dodgy phone calls from an unknown person, blocked the number, assumed it was a random wrong number.  But no.

Today a text arrives from 2D, advising that $1400 was owing on the account.  WTF? The account number wasn't correct.  Call 2d, they confirm that the "new" number was a re-issue.  I presume this was from a delinquent account, and not a long abandoned number - but recent.

Very annoying, as she'd sms'd contacts advising them of her new number - that she'd probably now rather not have - previously and recently owned by a dodgy b*stard.

Not a very good effort by 2D.  I'm not very happy.

Understandably so, and I apologise. Numbers are supposed to be in quarantine for 6 months after termination. I'm sure @2degreescare will sort you out.
