Used to get a short period of dropping of internet after midnight ("planned works"?)

But in the last couple of days getting prolonged dropping of internet during the day, including one right now.

WAN light flashing, Internet sometimes light up for a few seconds then dim again.

Anyone had similar issues?

And are you using your ISP's provided router?

not likely, connection is generally good (when it's not acting up), didn't have any appliances running (not that they ever caused any issues before while running)

relatively new cat5e from ONT directly to router

Have you logged a fault with Orcon? if so what actions have they done to date?

Good call…

The loss of internet usually only lasts 30 Min or so, didn't bother. I recall at one stage it's quicker to get a response by posting here then opening a ticket.

I just tried calling and was surprised how quick I got a real person talking to me. He told me the optic is good but can't see my modem. I was asked to bring the modem downstairs to plug into ont directly, and tested with 2 different cables. At one stage the modem power light stuck in red and he requested a replacement.

He advised that a change was made at orcon's end and modem was then back online. Couldn't test wifi cause my AP is still upstairs. I was happy to end it there, no replacement required.

All in all it's been quite helpful. Haven't dealt with their call centre since they "moved it back", haven't really needed to call them anyway.
