Hey guys.

We have been with 2D for a few years, happy with the service. We are planning on getting the landline cut off next year so were looking around for cheaper broadband deals. I looked at 2D and noticed they have a $200 joining credit. Is it possible to cancel the connection with them that is under my name, then my flatmate reconnects under their name. It would be cheaper than what we are paying now, plus the $200 joining credit is obviously a big incentive.

Thanks.

Call/Chat 2D and tell them you are thinking about leaving and ask to talk to the retentions team?? see if they will make you an offer....

Great question, I'm in the same boat, just had my contract expired and might be looking around, but if the $200 joining credit can be applied it will be an easy decision :)

I got the $200 credit. Had to sign on for another 12 month contract (I am moving house, so it's a little different). They understand there's ways around it.

I'm also thinking to get the free modem rental for another fritzbox to extend the wifi.

Hmmm. I just spoke to the online chat and they mentioned the $200 joining credit was for new customers only.

Just give them a ring and say that you're looking at changing providers to get their joining credit. Ask if they can give you the $200 credit (with a 12 month contract).

If they say no, then just cancel and sign up with your flatmates name.

@Finch, it depends on whether or not you are on contract.

We do not have a transfer of ownership process with our residential accounts so it all depends on the kind of contract you are on.

Flick us a PM and I will be able to look into this for you :)
