Chorus is installing my fibre as I type this (a day early).

I have an Asus RT-AC3200 that I use for my VDSL and I've read that VLAN tagging might be a little tricky to get working under DD-WRT.  The RT-AC3200 seems to work with it using Asus or Merlin firmware so the hardware sounds like it is capable.  Just not sure how to get it working precisely with DD-WRT?

If anyone has it actually working, can you share your tips on configuring it?  I've seen some older posts suggesting that configuing via the webgui might not work and I might need to try and set it via SSH / startup scripts in DD-WRT.

Can you install LEDE/OpenWRT on the RT-AC3200? DD-WRT has been dead for years AFAIK.

LEDE success: https://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=66&topicid=223985

DD-WRT is far from dead and is under very active development. They are revving the firmware and releases 2-3x per month. I’ve been using it for the last 12 years non-stop

Ah, okay. Wikipedia lists the last stable release as 27 July 2008.

Got it working.  The trick was to change the vlan assignment in dd-wrt Setup>VLANs from vlan2 to vlan10, click the tagged button at the bottom and then from ssh/command issue the following:

nvram set pppoe_wan_ifname=vlan10

nvram commit

Using the vlan tagging option on under Setup>Networking was not required contrary to a lot of information that is posted on the dd-wrt forums.

Alternately, this can probably be done from the command line using:

nvram set port0vlans="10 16 18 19 21"

That basically says Port0 is on VLAN 10 is tagged (16) and everything else after that has to do with port settings for speed/negotiation/etc...

Now, I just have to try and get my HomePhonePlus working with my SPA112 and that is proving to be even HARDER!  Gonna have to start a new post for that because there doesn't seem to be any current information/configuration directions for getting an SPA112 to work on SNAP.....
