I was browsing an old thread from July and noticed @SamF getting quite high international speeds to the 2degrees speedtest servers.

Bored, I ran some tests and they're not very good compared to his:

Compared with @SamF who ran these today for me (I believe he's Auckland):

Ironically, my upload speeds are better than his.

I've tried combinations of win10/Ubuntu/edgerouter/fritzbox. With any of those combinations they all achieve near line speed to local speedtest servers so it's not a client/router issue.

Can other 2degrees users in Wellington post their speedtest results to LA and Sydney?

Yes, correct, I'm in Auckland.

Per the screenshots in dfnt's post, my upload speeds have significantly decreased as compared to July.

My speed to 2D Auckland is fine:

What do you get to the 2degrees LA speedtest server? Just type 2degrees into the server selection search.

I'm assuming being on 100/20 you'll pretty much get that (in theory)

Nope, nowhere near. Here's 2degrees LA.

Even Citylink Wellington doesn't get line speed.

2degrees Auckland gets close

And today the speeds are laughably slow

Any idea what's going on @NickMack?

I thought 2degrees were usually ahead of the ball when it came to international bandwidth.

Especially during the snap days, then it turned bad when 2degrees bought them but got better after a while

It's got slightly better:

Seems to only impact LA though, San Fran was about the same or slower as the above

And yes, I've logged a call before you ask!

Hi All - Yes on holiday at the mo (camping out of range on purpose) we are waiting on some additional capacity to be added for direct US connectivity at the moment. We have additional paths that are more latent via Aussie and GGI. I've fired off some emails to find out where things are at.

Nick.

I can't say I noticed anything but then again, I really don't utilize my Gigabit connection and really only have it for the upload speed.
