anyone used slingshot power? good value compared to the 'normal' guys; Genesis, Trustpower etc.

No but I use Orcon power which I guess is the same thing, hence the parent company being Vocus and same pricing, happy with it but I guess you can get cheaper with Contact and Powershop, see: https://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumId=48&topicId=229073  and https://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=48&topicid=229073&page_no=5#2014986
