As for "being asleep" I bet it's because the times 2degrees will be giving him are in NZDT which is when it's rated by their network. And as for his phone being "stolen" I think the correct word is "lost". Nobody stole it off him - he left it in a taxi.
I'm not even sure how the Daily Mail NZ edition think it's even close to being newsworthy.
I'm in full support for 2degrees charging him for the whole bill instead of discounting it... When will people learn?
He claims he never got any messages but goes on to saying:
"I received one text message when I arrived, letting me know of the data rates and such. Then, I received one email once I had gone over my credit limit of $750."
