I'll be interested in the answer to this. I to am paying $135 a month.
Rambaldi: How did you get it discounted?

it comes up as a Geekzone special if you click the link at the top of Geekzone and just follow the instructions untill the end picking all the most extreme options and at the end the deal should be there
Common sense is not as common as you think.
Does anyone know if I have to cancel my current subscription to them or if I sign up through that link will it auto switch over without having to change my current subscription?
I still plan on calling them to find out why i've been overcharged for x amount of months but anytime i've asked them previously over the phone about deals and offers they generally plead ignorance.

I signed up for a 24 month contract the day they announced you get a free xbox one S with a contract, that was a few years ago. I believe the 24 months are up.
Ok, I've contacted them. I tried on the phone but after trying two different departments I confirmed there is no accounts team over the phone anymore.
So I went to live chat. Basically what they get you to agree to when you sign up is the price you'll pay forever until you yourself notice a price change. They don't contact you, or post on social media, or email a notice of new prices/deals.
Essentially they milk you as long as they possibly can at a higher amount until you do something about it, not exactly the best way to treat your customers but rather then go overboard i'll just take it on the chin and know to regularly looking into what i'm paying from now on.
Thanks to those that pointed out the new geekzone deal, will definitely be signing up to that today.
This was marketed by Orcon pretty heavily at the time, which is when I ended my existing contract early and started a new agreement on the cheaper plan. It wasn't a big secret. It would have been a year ago at least I'm guessing?
That's not Orcon's fault.
I had the same problem with 2Degrees. They dropped prices, I stayed on the old overpriced plan for multiple months before realising. When I called to see what the story was I was told "Oh you were on an old plan we don't offer any more". It sucks. Pretty easy to do a lookup of your customers on the overpriced plan and email them offering a better deal.
