Been using wifi calling at home for a month now using an iphone7. No issues with connection or wifi signal. I have however noticed quite a bit of lag when making a call or receiving a call in the house using wifi calling. I have no choice but to use it as signal strength is bad on all networks in this urban area.

Is this usual or is something not quite right?

How far do it use the handset from the AP?

Yup we have issues with it at home here too.

Only option as there's basically no coverage in our rural location, unless you go outside and walk behind the garage, then you may get one bar.

Often just drops off so iPhones no longer show '2degrees WiFi Calling'.
Just checked my iPhone XR now and it's not there again!

Have to turn wifi off & on to get it to connect again.

Sometimes it will say it's on but no calls come through, and go straight to voicemail.
Then a text message will come through saying we missed a call!

Other times the phone will ring but you can't hear the caller.

No other wifi issues at all.
We have two Unifi APs here, one AC Pro and one outdoor unit.

I had this issue as well.

The end result was 2degrees telling me to reset my iPhone to factory defaults which I'd already tried, so I ended up going back to Spark

No I've been watching that as well and had the Unifi controller open and my iPhone doesn't change APs when I'm sitting at my desk but shows all of those issues I mentioned.

Has anyone tried Vodafone's Sure Signal?
Are they any better since it keeps your phone on the cell signal?

Realise we would need to swap to Vodafone SIM cards to use it but you can use a SureSignal with any ISP now can't you?
Don't need to be one Vodafone connection anymore?

I've never once had an issue with WiFi Calling - it has always been rock solid for me.

It does however appear that those having issues are also using UniFi (which I don't personally use) but I have been able to replicate this sort of issue when UAPSD (Unscheduled Automatic Power Save Delivery) is disabled on the SSID.

Check if this is enabled. If it is disabled, then enable it and report back.

I also sometimes wonder if some isps are running their network at saturation and have their packet drop threshold too high - wonderful for dropping registrations

Yes I know that, just thought I’d mention that there’s no other wifi issues with the phones.
So where does one find that setting you mentioned on a unifi controller?

I talked to 2degrees broadband today and they checked fritx settings and then transferred me to mobile who told me some lag when starting or receiving calls is standard. I dont believe them.
