You had an initial ETA based on chorus's estimate of size of the issue, they haven't actually confirmed if it's a fibre cut, a simple physical linecard reset required etc

not sure i'd call resoution by next day third world. We have tons of copper (Conklin) customers who suffer month long outages from Copper backhauls getting damaged.... that's far more third world.

Given your in browns bay, Wireless is a great backup solution.

Surely they can monitor their boxes remotely?

I bet you a dollar if they have outages this size when world cup is on and people have signed up to watch the games with Spark then all hell will break loose.

And what wireless? I cannot even get 4G around most of the town of Browns Bay

If you want it resolved faster get an SLA attached to the connection BUT be prepeared to pay for said SLA... if you need the internet for critical operations have a backup plan if said ufb goes down.

Always remember its best effort service and tommorrow to restore is pretty good also given there is a million options that could have taken it down.

Your comment about spark sport... I am pretty sure that Service Providers have a plan for that πŸ˜‰

I understand that in the event of Network problems they will hand off the sports to TVNZ. Would have to be pretty serrious for them to do that. Meanwhile still no sign of Internet in Browns Bay area

Unfortunately, in terms of ensuring your connection, that's your thing.

Well it it's still down and the fix time has a Life of it's own moving forward. Was 12.40 today then 7.00 pm tonight now it had no fix time at all just a message that fix is being reviewed.
Does anyone out there know what the hell is wrong. The outage seems to be mainly North Shore.
If Chorus explained what is the problem it would help us understand
