Hello. They both have similar offerings for UFB. I prefer smaller companies; often you get better support.

Anyone can comment about the 2 as there are no compares in Google.

Im currently with Flip, but they have not moved from max VDSL and pricing is same as these offer for UFB.

Look at the support 2degrees provides here on Geekzone it's fantastic

I wouldn't recommend My Republic.

Orcon should be fine, have you had a look at Spark (or Skinny, or Bigpipe) or 2Degrees?

Hi there.
I wouldn’t used My Republic, but have you looked at Now broadband. They are base in Hastings and I have just switched to them recently and they are really great. I can only get VDSL but they are way better than Vodafone and they use Netcom modem router which I think is better than Vodafone ultra hub.
There pricing is pretty competitive and you might be surprised.

I don't at all recommend My Republic. Of all the connections I've assisted with they've been consistently rubbish in terms of speed on UFB and support has also been rubbish. There was a comment on here not too long ago from an ex-staff member who stated their network was cheap, and not really built to any standard.

As for NOW Broadband there are a few people here that recommend it - but I do find it rather odd that the users always recommending it are new users on Geekzone. NOW have CG-NAT by default and don't have any pricing for Dynamic / Static IP's (but from memory this was $10/mo). Based on their website (and again, information I've gotten over the years) the router that they give you are not user-configurable and all configuration must be done by them which isn't ideal for more advanced people.

Orcon is pretty good as an ISP. Their support from experience isn't as good as the likes of 2degrees for example who in my personal opinion have excellent support. I have a guide in my signature that may help (I need to update this with NOW Broadband in mind) but as @Linux says - Friends don't let Friends sign up for MyRepublic.

Also @OldGeek - Broadband Compare have got a pretty bad name around here due to spamming in the past. Geekzone has a broadband tool you can use (powered by Gimp) who are a good bunch of people at https://broadband.geekzone.co.nz
