I have a couple of Fritz boxes and would like to obtain a 3rd to complete a Mesh network.

Apparently Orcon supply one of two Netcomm wireless routers with their fibre plans.

However I see that they also support (perhaps previously supplied?) Fritz box 7490.

Is there any way to get a Fritz box on a fibre plan?

Thanks,

I currently use a fritzbox 7490 with Orcon fibre, its no problem and works fine with a factory reset and no settings need to be changed for it to work.

I'm not using any voice/landline functionality though.

But, did orcon supply you with the fritzbox?

If orcon does not supply the 7490, you can sometimes get one quite cheaply off trademe.

Good device too, used to pull my hair out over when the main choice was dlink /netgear etc.   Now I'm all fritzbox, ubiquiti and HP!

I was thinking they might only supply a Fritz box if a land-line addon is chosen, since Fritz supports SIP.
Even though I don't need a land-line it might be worth spending an extra $5 a month for 12 months to get a decent router. However, looking at the Netcomm boxes, they seem to support phone too so I think my theory is probably wrong. Looks like I can get a third Fritz for about 70 to 100 bucks off Trade Me anyway, so that's probably the best route.

I wonder what they do with all the ex-rental routers when people come to the end of their contracts....
