Started getting reports at work that our emails were being blocked by 554-snapmx1.ironport.snap.net.nz due to MTA Reputation services.

 

As a result I emailed myself from work and got the blocked message.

 

Who can I contact to see how we remove ourselves from this list as we don't seem to be blacklisted by other ISPs around New Zealand

Have you got SPF / DKIM / DMARC set up on your domain?

 

If not, there is your problem... https://www.mail-tester.com/ is a great way to test it.

I'm not sure what I am supposed to be seeing in the linked thread. We are not sending from 2D to Gmail, we are sending from our domain to 2D (in this case Southnet and Snap email addresses)

 

As for Spam Test Result - 8.4

I suspect its due to not having a reverse DNS that matches your domain - I've spoken to one of our systems engineers who will look into it shortly.

Hiya

 

As suspected smtp.forbar.co.nz has no reverse DNS PTR record.

 

Forward lookup is fine (smtp.forbar.co.nz. 360  IN A  203.97.7.132), but there is no PTR record for 203.97.7.132

 

2degrees rejects the SMTP connection because of this, the reject happens before message is validated so DKIM signature (even though valid) is not checked.

Passed this to our Infrastructure team, who have in turn gone to our ISP to ask about Reverse DNS and why it dropped off.

 

In the meantime, how do we send emails to 2D? 
And when was this block put in place since it only started happening yesterday as far as I can tell - the person who reported it has a Southnet email address, and emails himself all the time from work
