There's an outage showing nearby on the Chorus outage map - https://www.chorus.co.nz/outages

Edit: Oops, I didn't look at it closely enough, that's a copper outage.

Yes, Orcon Fibre outage on Glencoe Rd, not at home so can’t see ONT status.

Drives me nuts. The help desk staff do not understand their own system. Told her the internet light was not showing on my modem. All she said was the're are no outages. She's said she would investigated and ring me back. That will be a bit hard because Orcon provide my phone so that it's down as well

Cloud spending continues to surge globally, but most organisations haven’t made the changes necessary to maximise the value and cost-efficiency benefits of their cloud investments. Download the whitepaper From Overspend to Advantage now.

If the outage is not showing on the Chorus map, Orcon will be able to raise an issue that a Chorus tech will sort out - probably come to the cabinet (?) nearby.

If the outage is showing on the Chorus map, then Orcon cannot report it or raise a new issue. They have zero updates from Chorus and will not be able to give you any idea on what's going on.

If you contact Chorus, you will get a standard answer and nothing further than what you can see on the outage map - the expect resolution time/date may be changed, but no-one will be able to explain why - at least not anyone who is updating the call centre staff.

Eventually, the issue will be resolved, hopefully sooner rather than later.

Pretty accurate response by pgs2050. As mentioned, if an outage is not showing on our map, you should contact your provider and they can log a fault ticket with us accordingly.

If an outage is showing on our outages page (red will represent copper and blue will represent fibre) it will be the best place to get the latest information regarding the area covered and resolution times. For more detailed information you can always contact us directly via our social media channels and we will check internally and supply as much info as we have available at the time. ^DR
