Does anyone have any information on setting up a Vodafone Sure Signal to work over the 2 degrees broadband network?

I have bad mobile reception where I am so I have purchased a Vodafone Sure Signal to boost mobile reception. The Sure Signal works over the broadband internet to connect to the Vodafone server. The problem is that my Sure Signal does not connect automatically. Vodafone unhelpfully referred me to their guide to setting up the Sure Signal on complex networks (http://help.vodafone.co.nz/app/answers/detail/a_id/12608/~/set-up-complex-networks-with-sure-signal) which is not very explanatory. I have talked to 2 degrees and they can make no sense of using the information provided by Vodafone to adjust my router to let the Sure Signal work. Any help would be very much appreciated!

It should just work but you might need to check with Vodafone the IP address your connection is allocated is in the White list on the Sure Signal cluster

Also take note Sure Signal is EOL so you might get only limited support from VodafoneNZ

It can take ages for it to connect the first time - I'm talking 30 mins or so. So just connect it all up and leave it for an hour, see if it is now working.

Thanks for the replies. I have been trying to set this up for several weeks - I think it should have had a enough time to establish a connection!

Vodafone have added my IP address to their Sure Signal safe list. Also the Sure Signal has been factory reset several times.

Can you PM me your public IP address ?

Also - can you confirm what back haul you are getting from your 2 Degrees (4G/3G) and a estimation of speed UL/DL?

I can check to see if you have an IPSec connection to the cluster.

Cheers

Mark.

If the connection is on the new CG-NAT setup with 2degrees, the SureSignal might not work.

I would just sell the device on TradeMe while they can be sold for crazy money, port the mobile to 2degrees and switch to wifi calling.

Update: Checking to ensure IP range is exempted.

I had one working on Skinny 4G, which was CGNAT, so presumably this won't cause an issue.

However, once they were announced as end of life, I did exactly what you suggested
