"Gale said an investigation showed 2degrees used a computer script to identify volunteers who were having their broadband performance measured by the contractor under a programmed called Measuring Broadband NZ. [..] Two were moved to faster plans at no cost and one was temporarily disconnected to prompt them to "contact 2degrees and discuss their broadband connection"

Seems like a far cry from the old days. Can't help but think that Snap would not have done this. Seems alarming as well that 2degrees was monitoring individual customers internet traffic to determine who was and was not using the broadband performance measurement service.
