Hi,
Just wondering if anyone on an Orcon LLU broadband plan is able to view tvnzondemand.co.nz content and tv3.co.nz ondemand content? I'm wondering if it's the 121.98.xxx.xxx IP range being blocked like the 60.234.xxx.xxx prefix was way back when UBS first came out?
It appears to just load forever for me - trying to connect to doubleclick's ads server (maybe they are blocking us and therefore the streams do not play if the ads cannot play?)

Do note that if you're using Firefox, ads must be enabled or the videos will never load.

I found that out myself when tvnzondemand wouldn't load properly.

I had the same problem here in the Uk watching TV3 videos, installed flash ver 10 and that fixed the problem
using FF3.

I'd jsut stumbled across flash player 10 but it didn't help - looks like I'm actually being blocked by iprimus' routers (other traceroutes to the server work) so I've dropped them an email - hopefully they don't ignore it!

I am on VF Red Network and also have a backup Woosh connection.

I initially coulnd't get TVNZ On Demand live streaming working and sent several problem reports to TVNZ which were never answered.

I eventually figured out the problem - I was using a .hosts file to block some advertising sites - I think that the TVNZ service used something like doubleclick.com to serve ads before programs and since I had that site blocked nothing would play.

I cleared appropriate entries from my 'hosts' file and TVNZ Ondemand has worked well since.

Yup, I had suspected the same but this was not the case for me or many other orcon llu customers I have talked to. Managed to get ahold of irpimus to unblock the 121.98.xxx.xxx range (doubleclick nz/au is hosted on their network) and it seems they have done so already :) awesome, working now.

I haven't tried lately, but when the Olympics were on and my Orcon connection wasn't crashing, I was watching the high res streaming from the Olympics and it was awesome!

I wonder why it already worked for me?  Maybe the whole range wasn't blocked?  Oh well.

For Firefox, the issue was with the adblock plus extension for me, blocking the doubelclick.net

Edit: This afternoon my IE starting working with no changes, but i just got this email from tvnzondemand

Thanks for the email. We have made a change today to temporarily disable a timezone check that was part of a geofencing requirement (one of the geofencing checks we do) for the Disney content. Could you please check your computers timezone is set to New Zealand. Disney have allowed us to disable this for 24 hours to see if it solves some of the problems across Tvnz Ondemand. Please let me know if it stops working again on the weekend.

Cheers
Ian
