Is the Static IP for Snap free or does it cost $5

On the plan's page it looks like it is free, but in the FAQs it says it is $5

Am thinking of changing back to Snap after some appalling service from xnet for the past couple of weeks.

Snap were our first ISP until about a year ago when we went to xnet, and now possibly going back to them. We first had them in the 90's

Static IPs are available for free (and applied within 5mins - business hours only) on the following Snap Plans:
Snap C
Snap Advanced
Snap Pro
Snap Masterplan

That comment in the FAQ was accurate up to March this year, I'll have it removed.

Thanks for that!

What is your turnaround for replying to emails? just to give me a vauge idea of when I can expect a reply to one I send earlier?

Most NZ ISPs are too busy reading Geekzone posts about their poor email responses to actually spend time answering emails.

It's some kind of self-fulfilling prophecy Mashed up with a Stargate "Window Of Opportunity" type time-loop.

Snap are okay at answering emails, not fantastic but they do get answered eventually. What they are good at is answering the phone when you call. You also get to talk to someone who mostly knows what they are talking about when you call.

What the hell have you been smoking tony?

I'd agree with hads, they answer the phone pretty quick, had no issues when I swapped from Vodafone (nee ihug).
