Hi there,

Reason for port forward:  I've been having disconnection issues/game problems and so game company agents have said it could be my ISP that's causing this problem... Trying to see if port forward helps.

So I'm trying to open League of Legends ports on the Fritz!Box 7490 but am having two problems.

The ports for League of Legends (as shown on their website https://support-leagueoflegends.riotgames.com/hc/en-us/articles/201752664 ) - are:

  • 5000 - 5500 UDP (League of Legends Game Client)
  • 8393 - 8400 TCP (Patcher and Maestro)
  • 2099 TCP (PVP.Net)
  • 5222 - 5223 TCP (PVP.Net)
  • 80 TCP (HTTP Connections)
  • 443 TCP (HTTPS Connections)
  • 8088 UDP and TCP (Spectator Mode)

1st problem:  I am unable to insert the first port "5000 - 5500 UDP (League of Legends Game Client)" into the Fritz Box port sharing as it keeps showing this message (photo attached):

2nd problem: For inserting the last League of Legends port "8088 UDP and TCP (Spectator Mode)" I am unable to insert it as it has BOTH/Double protocols of UDP and TCP. What should I do for this part?

Look forward to hearing back from you guys with the help.

Thanks a bunch.

EDIT:  It seems like a user @LGSAM made a post here: https://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=85&topicid=265630&page_no=2#2412426 where his sons who are gamers are also recently experiencing the disconnection/gaming issues...

In the forum post, according to @RunningMan , it would seem that some users  were able to get static IP address for free if they experience issues. Though not sure if this offer is still available. User @richms , I do agree with him that it is expected that fixing the  gaming dropping outs for customers should NOT cost anything further... I did not know about 2D moving to CG-Nat..

@NickMack or @2DegreesCare can I please get your help on this? Can't play a single game on any pc/laptops..

Hey Nick,

Thanks for the reply. I have tried to call them already and also a few moments ago but wait took a while so I hung up... would I be able to send you my customer number for you to check on?

I am away on leave, currently have coverage with no laptop, hence my redirection to Care.

Thanks for the quick response Nick.

Ah fair enough. I'l try again to call Customer centre again..hopefully someone picks up. As user @LGSAM said in his post (https://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=85&topicid=265630), I also agree I shouldn't have to pay extra for a service which should work and has worked for the last 12 months. I've been with 2D for 2 years now.

P.S. Incase 2D centre doesnt pick up, may I ask for their tech support email?

As per the links you have this is something that Nick already passed on to be looked at (not your problem but the disconnections). Perhaps mention to care about the other thread.

Having said that, I would not port forward anything really, for security reasons - ideally, this would be a change on 2degrees side only.

Hiya @LGSAM , @boosacnoodle and @freitasm

Glad to see your contributions here.

@LGSAM - Yep, I understand how your sons feel. Having bad gaming experience sucks...this problem not only has ruined my gaming experiences but when I try to find games in lobbys it doesnt find any..keeps getting disconnected. I can imagine playing other games like Fortnite which shuld have the same problem as me. I do agree that 2Degrees is helpful, but their customer service call centre is really hard to get hold of...I'm counting on @NickMack on this one since he should understand this condition much more better than the 2D customer service team as @boosacnoodle pointed out where he stated that his experience was difficult with the 2D team since they did not understand his issue...it kind of like speaking to someone who works in 2D department who should know about network connections but apparently does not know anything about it which honestly sucks so I feel for @boosacnoodle 😅 conditions. I'm glad he was able to sort it out by getting the Static IP. Hopefully he got it for free as you @LGSAM said, we shouldn't be paying anything extra for a service which should work and has worked for the last 12 months. I've been with 2D for 2 years now.

@freitasm - No problem. That is what I am praying for now. I've been unable to get in hold with 2D call centre (I assume it must be busy as hell 24/7) so I hope I can rely on @NickMack. He is our only saviour with his expertise skills thats able to understand our condition/needs for the issue.

P.S. I have submitted an email to the 2D team so if I do get anything, I will report back to you guys. Have a wonderful night all and thanks for the conversation and honesty 😄

Just phone 2degrees! They're not hard to get hold of, I've done it multiple times in assistance to helping others out.

Please also don't count on Nick. He is a volunteer around here, and is also on leave so let him enjoy his holiday. Also, do not port forward without a true understanding of what you're doing.

The issue is likely not related to CG-NAT with LoL as you're not hosting a server, you're only connecting to one. In this case you do not need a Static IP but you do need to contact 2degrees to at-least log a fault with them for their network team to investigate. If you don't reach out to them, then they won't know there is an actual issue to begin with.

Edit: I'm locking this. Continue discussion on the other thread: https://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=85&topicid=265630
