I have 2degrees  prepay phone account which is topped up as & when necessary as it is an emergency use phone.  In the past i have only needed to top up with the minimum $20 yearly.  However I can no longer find on my 2degrees any reference to the expiry date when I need to top up before any existing balance is removed.  Does anyone know if this 12 month minimum top up clause has been removed ?

@clive100 Yes it's still the same as it's always been

From the 2degrees website

You must make a Payment of at least $20 at least once every 365 days (or if you have a NZ Visitor SIM, you must make a Payment of at least $20 at least every 90 days) in order to keep your Prepay Account active, otherwise your account will terminate in accordance with clause 20(c). You can make a Payment (i.e. top up your account) a minimum of $10 at any one time

I still have plenty of credit on the phone and as mentioned earlier it is a emergency use only phone so don't top up unless necessary.

You can ask in store and they can lookup topup date.

Also if you have shared data TO a PAYG sim, that stays active even with no credit and no topup, as long as it uses some shared data within the 365 days. This is what I was told in store and they rang head office to check.

You can find the prepay credit expiry date on the top up page linked in your dashboard.

Thank you. I hadn't seen that before.

Why don't you call their service desk for the credit expiry first, I know they are hard to get hold off sometimes, you get what you paid for anyway.

I'm not sure about 2d's refund policy, you can do some top up and check with then for the overpayment you had made to be refunded.

It's a pity that the topup expiry is not shown on the 2d phone app.  I also have an emergency car phone on 2D  and it's frustrating that I have to login online to see when it expires. Both Skinny and Spark show the expiry dates on the phone apps.
