I connected to Slingshot today after getting the text that Ultra Fast Fibre have actioned the change from 2Degrees.

This was at 3.30pm. Apart from 3 speedtests, the only other usage has been facebook browsing on 3 mobile phones.

I was surprised to see that ive already used 3.5 gb in just 10.5 hours today. My plan is unlimited but just surprised id already used that much already.

Doesnt seem right. Im going to nosey my daily usage on 2Degrees to compare. Ive been working remotely from home for 5 hours a day but todays Slingshot usage was after i had switched modems so is essentially just facebook browsing.

3.5GB is about right for 3 speedtests on gig fibre if thats what you are on,  If anything its slightly low, Here is a graph of 2 speedtests on firefox, 1 on vivaldi and 1 on speedtest app,

firefox was 1.68gig down 890meg up

vivaldi was 1.64 down 860meg up

speedtest app was 1.21gig down 680meg up but this was to aus just to see,

Thanks heaps. Yeps, gbit fibre. Sounds about right then. Never really thought of speed tests using that much data but it makes clear sense now.

Its actually surprising how much data gets consumed these days. So after checking my logs with 2Degrees. Yesterday was a slow day!

Looking at my Slingshot usage for this month - I am averaging 45.5GB a day...

That's up from an average of 35.5GB a day last month

Clearly VC usage is having an impact!!

I've gone from daily average 25GB / day to 51GB / day

Sunday I had to push an update to lots of servers so my usage for Sunday was 115GB, most of which was Upload.
