I've been doing speed tests this morning on my wired device, and seem to only be able to hit 200mbps while I'm on a "2degrees Broadband Unlimited Ultimate Fibre" plan.

Fast.com: 200mbps

Speedtest.net: Various servers, 100 - 200mbps.

Before I contact customer support is anyone else having an issue?

Restarted both ONT and Modem? What model is your modem? What device you are testing on? Tried with diff cable or port?

No issue here. I just now got 540 down 360 up over WiFi, and 900 down 540 up over Ethernet. In Christchurch, using speedtest command line interface application on Linux, if that matters.

I've been on the ultimate plan since I signed up. We did have an issue where Chorus provisioned me to the wrong speed, so took a few days to get right but that was almost a year ago now.

I'll see if it persists and if so I'll look at following the guide posted above.

I upgraded on Friday and my download was firmly stuck at 100Mbps whilst my upload popped up to 200Mbps. After some tweaking by customer care, I'm now 400 each way and a new 7590 is on its way to replace my 7560 to see if that fixes the issue.

My OP was testing via Browser on my Mac.

Since then I've tested with multiple devices using a combination of Browser and the Speedtest CLI - I get 200mpbs as a wall for download.

My upload speeds can hit higher.

What router are you using? ISP supplied?

Why I ask is that 2 degrees uses PPPoE which is somewhat taxing on the router. (Compared to the systems used by some other ISP's). ISP supplied router should be configured to run OK, but even fairly grunty aftermarket routers can bottleneck your connection especially if resource intensive settings are turned on.

I have an Asus RT-AC68U which is a somewhat grunty router (now getting a bit older), and it can only handle about 760mbps download, where it was able to handle 950mbps with my last ISP. That fast enough for my needs, and the setup has been super stable, so I accept the bottleneck (have had numerous issues with ISP supplied routers in the past). That said if I turn on features like QoS, performance drop massively.

For what it's worth, I've found there to be quite a bit of variation in throughput with various speedtest.net servers on 2degrees. It could be worth specifying a different server to use (perhaps one hosted by 2degrees?) when you're running speed tests. This won't make a difference if the bottleneck is within your home (as others have alluded to already).
