Hi group.

I am having massive trouble with My republic connecting my fibre. They are yet to activate the dhcp on their end and in a last ditch attempt i thought I would manually enter the Wan settings. I have spark installing a 2nd ont in a few days to provide me with a solid connection without the fuss, but my republic have disconnected my VDSL to have nothing currently.

I have been sent my static IP address.
I need their:
-Subnet mask
-default gateway

I have found online their primary and secondary DNS.
103.237.40.66 and 103.237.40.82.

If anyone on Myrepublic can get this info from their router it would be greatly appreciated. :-)

Chorus have sent a screenshot showing everything else is working.

Thanks

What makes you think entering a static IP will work?

Quite frankly since My republic disconnecting my VDSL on the 22 March as they provisioned fibre before chorus had finalised the install leasing up to today they have caused nothing but problems.

Since 22 March I have had more than 26 chats with them. Been numerous days without any internet then they tell me that the fibre is connected but isn't.
Prior to pulling the pin on them last night I thought I would manually try to get a connection. Chorus advised that they had incorrectly setup the DHCP settings and my republic then corrected them but didn't tell chorus. I was hoping I found bypass the dhcp but setting the static IP manually.

Last week chorus provisioned the connection and my republic failed to activate the internet service. Literally a chorus guy was in my house waiting for the ISP to turn on the internet.

Chorus head office stated
"
In order for our technician to complete your service, we require your RSP, to activate the service on there end. Once this has been completed our technician can then complete the connection process and ensure that all services are up and running and light is showing Green.
"

The fact you can't even ring these people is apauling

I am now back to VDSL.
Spark are installing a new 2nd ONT on Saturday and then I will tell my republic to go stick it.

When I had the modem manually configured with some guess work, my republic told me my fibre was working fine but I still couldn't get internet. I was using both their supplied aqua modem and a tp link Archer c7 but neither ever worked.

The chorus guy said this happens alot.

I have spent countless hours, probably 35+ stressing over this. I have taken 4 days off work as technicians were book rather than remote activations. It's been a total 🐔 up.

Once spark do their thing and get me up and going I will cancell all services with my republic. They have invoiced me for fibre since last month and not providing it so will not be paying the bill.

Chorus have nothing to do with DHCP settings so there is nothing for them to fix.

When UFB (or VDSL) is provisioned it's a direct layer 2 connection from your ONT to the RSP network. If DHCP doesn't work it's 100% the fault of your RSP and nothing Chorus can do to fix this.

Totally agree with you. 100% a problem with my republic. In 26+ chats they couldn't sort their 💩 out.

They kept promising me it will be going "today. Going tomorrow. There is an inflight order that we are waiting on. Will will send a technician Tuesday. We made a mistake. Sorry it will be going by 1pm. "

The root of the issue is that it was a chorus instagated install. Chorus were finishing off the street and knocked on my door to get the process rolling. My republic thought I had a previous ISP which I didn't as been with them for 4 years. Back in the day you could ring them.

Have you tried port 2 of your ONT?

I didn't try port 2 as had pretty clear info from both chorus and my republic that port 1 was activated.

Chorus provided this.

And my republic this.

Thanks for the help but now I am back to VDSL they have disabled the fibre service.

I will hopefully have everything going on Saturday after spark come in with the 2nd ont.

Cheers for the tips..
