You should have taken a screenshot. It's gone now.

Take a screenshot for us now then - it must be cached on your machine :-)

I've already downloaded it, just in case that it does go off the radar:
(this copy is from ImageShack)

Imagine this at the top of your screen peeping... hmm...

I saw it had changed to the static face from having no favicon at all and asked if it could be animated. http://forums.slingshot.co.nz/viewtopic.php?t=1972

The face start's out down, so it;s moving up and down.  I think it's nice and if you don't like it you can disable the animation enter about:config into the address bar and enter image.animation_mode into the search and change it to play only once. image.animation_mode once

It doesn't work in all browsers.

Nice...

TelstraClear still lags behind... they've still got no favicon up yet

imo, it should start up (rather than down) and be smooth in both directions. The jerking is far more annoying than it actually moving...

I think it's quite a cool unique favicon.  I don't glace at the top of my screen often so I wouldn't find it distracting.

The funny thing is when companies install off-the-shelf software (Joomla is a good example) and don't bother to change it.  You can spot a Joomla favicon a mile off.

I still don't see it. Not even when visiting their pages. Perhaps TelstraClear having problems? Anyone please care to post a screenshot?

(Also because the OP posted a direct link and if in the future they change the favicon this discussion will make no sense).

He has posted a link to it hosted with imageshack, http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?ForumId=81&TopicId=27366&page_no=1#173080.

Now that you tell me about it, I find it a little annoying, at first I did not even notice it.

I agree - I think it's a pretty cool use of their branding, and subtle enough not to be distracting.. but then, how often and how long would anyone spend on the slingshot website anyway?

Shows up on my system (TC cable, Khandallah).  Do not find it a problem just visiting the site.

Call Plus favicon is also now annimated.  That may be more of an issue for me as I have it at the link bar on the top of my browser.  I like distinctive icons there - makes it easier to home in on the site I want quickly with very short text captions so I can squeeze more on the bar (Gmail, NZ Post, AirNZ, Qantas, Yellow Pages, etc all good examples).

But an animmated icon at the top of every web page I visit?  Not so certain about that.  Will have to see.
