Hi,

I was using 'Network Cell Info Lite' (Android) in Long Bay Motor Camp, Coromandel, over the weekend and was connecting to the following sites:

TAC-ECI

62204-1789697

22204-270605

10007-62384918

I'm trying to find out the location of these sites.. I have looked at https://gis.geek.nz/ but can't figure out how to search by ID.

Any ideas on how I can get the GPS coordinates for these please? (I am wanting to figure out which direction to point an external antenna)

Daniel

Looking at the TAC's most of those are UTMS. they aren't mapped all that much these days since 2D has pretty decent LTE penetration.

gis sources from opencellid, which atleast from those i know who do contribute to databases, aren't really fans of it.

they don't do any filtering etc to strip out bad data - which there is a lot that comes in sadly, particularly with dual sim devices.

i did try to recommend to @stubbed a better option, but sadly they don't offer an api service, nevermind an open one :)

I know that 62204-1789697 is LTE.. I was able to connect to it locking to 900mhz (B8) (Approx 4 Mbit/s down, 0.5 Mbit/s up).. When I tried the same with 1800Mhz (B3) I got 7 Mbit/s down but essentially no up.

This location looks the most promising.. Now I just need to figure out where it is, so I can know distance and direction, so I can test with directional antennas.

Any idea where it might be located?

sounds about right, 22204 and 10007 are UTMS :) i couldn't see 62204 on there.

your best off just looking at your location, checking out gis and going from there..
