Hi,

So 2Degrees has just sent me a Fritz 7530 to replace my 7490.

I'm not sure what I was expecting to see, but cant really tell if there is any difference at all.

I was hoping for better coverage around my house and out to the garage using the 7530, but it appears the same.

Is one better than the other? - or just the same.?

Thanks

The 7530 are the new devices that 2degrees provide. While it provides everything the 7490 does - wifi is slower (as rated).
Especially so noticable on AC connections.

See the comparision table here - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_Fritz!Box_devices

The next generation of the 7490 is the 7590.

2degrees also provide a router relevant to your connection. It sounds like you're on a 100Mbit plan so the 7530 will be totally fine for you. On Gigabit they provide the 7560 or 7590.

My parents got the 7530 and was quite impressed with the WIFI coverage. Inside a comms cabinets in garage and still perfect WIFI coverage at other end of house. I got the 7490 because of the higher WIFI spec thinking I would have to mesh the wifi but wasn't needed.

I think 7490 handles gig fibre fine, so if it aint broke don't fix it?

The 7490 handles Gb connections no issue and the Wi-Fi is great for this type of connection
