Hi All,

Not sure what's changed in terms of paths, however latency parts of NZ and Aust has improved since 3:30pm today (These measures are taken from CHCH, so Auckland will be even better :-)) https://smokeping.thenet.gen.nz/smokeping/smokeping.cgi?target=peering.p2d

@Aspired @pwner - Thank you, what's changed? :-)

Nick

Yup it certainly has!
I'm noticing this as well from on my 2degrees connection from Wellington to my servers in AU

No big change in the network, we have had a number of fibre cuts in the last couple of weeks so had some links costed up on watch. This is when we were able to release all the links and you were able to take the most optimal route. Looks like it is going via our TGA capacity directly out of Hamilton to Sydney so provides lower latency than most. We were the first company to connect directly out of Hamilton this way on TGA.
