I'm experiencing network problems (176ms ping) towards this IP: 146.185.220.1 from Merivale, Christchurch (HiperZ / FaceIt CS:GO server)

This issue arose a month and a bit ago, my normal ping to this server is 56ms.
My friends who live 5 minutes north from me (also with 2Degrees) still get 56ms ping.

Due to the logistics of FaceIt voting, I cannot chose to avoid this Melbourne server, as it is a coinflip between Sydney & Melbourne hosting.

I have contacted both HiperZ & 2Degrees and they both just pointed the finger at each other.

With no real resolution 7 days later, I am lost. I love cs:go.

What happens when you use WinMTR over time - I'm getting fairly good pings on each host although I am with VFNZ rather than 2D.

Tested from 2d UFB (Burnside, Christchurch) and got 45-49ms. Got the same result testing via 2d UFB in Addington.
OP, are you testing via WLAN and is there any load on your network while you're testing or playing? Need a little bit more info from you since we're not seeing similar results from other 2d connections.

I think the issue is Vocus aren't picking up Australian domestic traffic for 2degrees 151.210.x.x ranges (so probably about half of their CG-NAT customers?).

Generally there is about 4 devices (2 mobile phones & a laptop) on my router with my PC being the only Ethernet device.
I am pretty confident there is no other load on my network while I'm testing or playing :)
I have also tested with my PC being the only device on the network and same results

I get a ping in the 50ms range using a 2Degrees fibre connection (with static IP) in Christchurch. Another datapoint for you.

Very curious that the handful of datapoints on 2d connections aren't are seeing the same results as you.

I've ran MTR at morning, midday & evening intervals to see if I could replicate what you're seeing but I'm consistently getting 45-49ms.

Emailed 2Degrees and a Static IP fixed the issue :)
