Had a power cut this morning from around 0245 until 0730. Mobile data worked up until around 0709 then dropped out - figured it was the tower running out of juice. However, when the power came back, the mobile didn't.

Phone says H+, which is normal for here, but no websites load and can't make any calls.

Tried forcing roaming to Vodafone, no luck their either.

Nothing on the Network status page for South Wairarapa though.

Might be worth putting "mobile" in the title.

Does it still latch on to the network and show 'H+' when you reboot the phone? Almost like the radio network is up, but whatever is feeding the site is the issue.

Apologies, I had mobile in my head too...

Yup, still does it with a reboot. Have wandered down to my olds place - 700m or so away, and his phone is doing the same with 2D, her phone with Spark isn't.

Currently in Greytown, where things are working fine on 2D.

As above, multiple services down in the Wairarapa. Hopefully damage isn't too severe.

ETA: It would certainly help if someone could update that Network Status page to reflect this.

Yeah, there's a slight breeze blowing at the moment.

Interestingly enough - Vodafone seem to have their stuff back in one sock. I'm back home and forcing the phone to roam to VF gives me a working connection, where as it didn't a couple of hours ago.

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Free setup code: R587125ERQ6VE. Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

2degrees have turned off Vodafone roaming in many places so I wasn't surprised that forcing roaming on Vodafone didn't work for you earlier. Wonder if they've temporarily brought back the roaming arrangement to cover some issues on their end in your area.

It's the one regional area still live with the ability to roam. Should be shut off this or next month.
